The Washington-Lee Generals
Boys Varsity soccer team advanced to the VHSL 6A North championship game with a 4-2 win over the visiting
West Potomac Wolverines
on Tuesday night in Arlington. The Generals were first to score in the 21st minute, and took a 2-0 lead 2:29 later on Maycol Nunez's 2nd goal of the game. The Wolverines' Nelson Flores responded at 29:59 and Daniel Damiani tied the game on a free kick as time expired in the half. Nunez made the go-ahead goal mid-way in the 2nd half for a well-earned hat trick, which was an impressive feat considering the pressure the Wolverines kept on him throughout the night. Rommel Romano put the Generals up 4-2 with just a little over ten minutes remaining. (Photo galleries: DMVpix or MaxPreps)
