West Potomac @ Washington-Lee Boys Varsity Soccer, VHSL 6A North Semifinal (3 Jun 2014)

The Washington-Lee Generals Boys Varsity soccer team advanced to the VHSL 6A North championship game with a 4-2 win over the visiting West Potomac Wolverines on Tuesday night in Arlington. The Generals were first to score in the 21st minute, and took a 2-0 lead 2:29 later on Maycol Nunez's 2nd goal of the game. The Wolverines' Nelson Flores responded at 29:59 and Daniel Damiani tied the game on a free kick as time expired in the half. Nunez made the go-ahead goal mid-way in the 2nd half for a well-earned hat trick, which was an impressive feat considering the pressure the Wolverines kept on him throughout the night. Rommel Romano put the Generals up 4-2 with just a little over ten minutes remaining. (Photo galleries: DMVpix or MaxPreps)

Please note there are "doubles" of each picture in the galleries as one picture has a SODC Summer Games logo and the other does not. The photos are available for free download for personal use and/or you can order prints and gifts at cost.

Arlington @ Prince William U15A Boys Lacrosse (5 Apr 2014)

It was another early start for the U15A boys team from the Arlington Youth Lacrosse Club (AYLC) as they headed to Veterans Memorial Park in Woodbridge, VA, on Saturday morning to play the Prince William Royals. The early starts aren't agreeing with the boys as they had a difficult time maintaining possession of the ball and as a result were given a clinic by the Royals and their coach, Corinne Wessels, who is a standout senior lacrosse player for Osbourn Park High School. Fortunately, AYLC avoided a shutout when Chris scored following a great pass from Kyle. (Photo Gallery)
