The Stonewall Jackson Raiders varsity football team trailed the Langley Saxons for most of the game; however, with 8:05 remaining in the 4th quarter, the Raiders took their first lead of the game, 43-42. The lead held until 3:29 when the Saxons scored a touchdown but failed to convert a two-point conversion. It took less than a minute (@ 2:35) for the Raiders to respond with a touchdown and successful two-point conversion to make the score 51-48. Given both teams had been moving the ball without problem all night, a Raiders' victory wasn't assured. Sure enough, the Saxons were able to move the ball into field goal range with less than 20 seconds left in the game. The Raiders secured their victory when the field goal went just left of the upright. (Photo galleries: DMVpix or MaxPreps)
